When Dave Butler made the announcement at the 2007 Power Wagon Rally that Vintage Power Wagons wanted to take a year off from the rally, a group of us got together and decided we could not let this happen, even for one year. We approached Dave with the idea of forming a committee of volunteers that would keep the rally alive, with the help and guidance of Vintage Power Wagons. He liked the idea and the Vintage Power Wagon Rally LLC was formed.

Twenty years of doing the rally means that Vintage Power Wagons has cultivated many relationships with groups and organizations that help make the rally what it is. With the help and input of VPW, we will be able to utilize these resources.

The day to day running of the Power Wagon Rally now rests with us, a dedicated group of volunteers, who have officially name ourselves the “Steering Committee”. We will do our best to maintain the quality this rally has become known for over the years and keep the rally momentum moving forward. We know this is going to be a big undertaking and will take some effort to make this happen.
